Save Money on Auto Insurance:

Getting into an auto accident and having to deal with an auto accident insurance settlement can be overwhelming if you try to do it yourself. You’ve gone through the stress of making arrangements for the repairs on your vehicle and going to numerous doctor’s visits and physical therapy appointments for your injuries. Many large insurance companies have their own group of attorneys that will assist their insured in matters of settlement. Then there are the smaller or online companies that are not equipped to back up their policyholders in such a situation. If it’s a clean cut accident where liability is clearly shown, you may want to try to negotiate with the other vehicle protection provider adjuster yourself regarding the auto accident insurance settlement.

However, if you are not successful in your attempts to settle with the adjuster you have a number of options. You may want to have a consultation with a physical injury attorney to see if you need any legal assistance at this point in your case.

Negotiations, Auto Accident Insurance Settlement

At some point, the adjuster from the other party’s protection provider will begin to make offers on the auto accident insurance settlement. There will come a point where they have reached the maximum amount their supervisors will let them pay. You won’t know when that offer will come, so it is important to keep track of when each offer was made and how much it was for. By keeping track, it may be possible to tell when they have reached their limit. If the amount is not adequate, that is when you have to start reviewing your options.

If there is a stalemate in your auto accident insurance settlement, it is probably time to get someone on your side to help you with the red tape so that you get paid for all of your suffering and can then get on with your life. Some of the things that you can do are: 1) speak to the other providers adjustor’s supervisor; 2) compose a letter to the insurance company stating your position and including any pertinent documents to back up your case; 3) ask for arbitration or mediation to resolve any disputes; 4) file a complaint with the Department of Insurance in your state; or 5) hire that attorney you had a consultation with.

If there are still outstanding problems with the resolution of any items with your own vehicle protection provider regarding the auto accident insurance settlement, you also have options. Suing for Bad Faith or filing a complaint against your provider with the Department of Insurance in your state are two avenues to pursue. There is always help in some form when there is a situation regarding a vehicle accident when fault has been established against the other party in the auto accident insurance settlement case.
